Our library has multiple copies of this year’s VT Reads choice, The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas.
Vermont Reads is a statewide community reading program and 2020 marks the 19th year of the program in which the Vermont Humanities Council invites people across the state to read the same book.
Teens and adults can get a copy of the book at the front desk or borrow the audiobook or ebook from OverDrive (Thank you Vermont Humanities Council for purchasing additional copies!) Directions for logging in to your OverDrive account (FREE with your library card!)

Art Experience: Nice Kicks! Thanks to a generous donation from The Community Bank N.A. Foundation of New England, two classes of Southwest Tech graphic arts students are completing an art experience designing Chuck Taylor Converse sneakers, using art to relate to the themes of Thomas’ book and sharing their completed designs. Southwest Tech Graphic Arts teacher Elizabeth Kane is leading this experience. Students also received a copy of the book and viewed the movie.
*Students are finishing their designs as the school year ends. Stay tuned for pictures and more!
